When trying to decide our genre we didn't have any clear suggestions so we decided to draw a spider diagram listing all of the possible genres. We then able to narrow it down to either horror or romance. Again we still didn't have a clear idea on which one we would prefer to do, so did a pros and cons list comparing them against each other. The main con with choosing horror for our genre would that it would be too similar to our AS media project which was a Psychological Thriller genre.
Overall we found we preferred romance, we all enjoy watching this genre and have a fair amount of own knowledge on what is required within a romantic film. We will still consider horror as a backup in case we are not satisfied with our work. But choosing Romance with further show our versatility and our ability to adapt to different genres and their conventions.
